Our annual merit-based scholarships are made possible with proceeds from the Patch Thrift Shop.

FAQs

How are recipients selected? The selection process for scholarship winners is based on a combination of GPA, extracurricular activities, leadership, volunteer hours, work experience, and essay submission. However, each application and its requirements differ. 

Is there a GPA minimum? Yes. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (GPA based on a 4.0 scale) for the SCSC High School 4-Year College Scholarship and the SCSC GAP Scholarship. Other scholarship categories do not have a GPA requirement.

How many scholarships are given out? In 2023, the SCSC awarded more than $90,000 to over 90 applicants.

2022-23 Impact

Our 2022-23 membership year was another fantastic one for our scholarship program! Due to the generous donations and purchases at the Patch Thrift Shop from our community, we were able to award close to 100 scholarships valuing $90,500! Congratulations to the recipients and THANK YOU to all of those who made it happen!
